PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are excited to announce the commitment of goaltender Jesse Jenks to the team for the 2013-14 season.
Jesse Jenks is a '95 born 6' 2" 180 pound goaltender from Crofton, BC who played last season for the South Island Royals in the BC Major Midget League. Jenks is considered to be a technical goaltender with a calm and focused approach to the game.

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings in conjunction with the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) have released the schedule of games for the second annual Bauer BCHL Showcase to be held in Chilliwack on September 6-8, 2013.
The Spruce Kings will play two games at the Bauer BCHL Showcase, the first of which will be considered a home game and the other an away game. The Spruce Kings first game with be against the Cowichan Valley Capitals with a 6:30pm start time on Saturday September 7th. Game two will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm versus the Nanaimo Clippers.

| Cam Smith has accepted the role of Athletic Therapist/Trainer with the Spruce Kings |

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) would like to announce the hiring of Cam Smith as their new Athletic Therapist/Trainer.
Smith worked this past season with the Keystone Cup Champion Richmond Sockeyes of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) in the same capacity. His experience also includes one season with the Vancouver Canadians baseball team and four years with the UBC Thunderbirds hockey team and the university athletics department. |

Caleb Thompson is a '94 born 5' 11" 175 pound right-handed defenceman from Oklahoma City, OK. Thompson possesses speed, intelligence and is a physical player with the ability to open the play offensively. Thompson, who was invited to the team's Spring Prospects Camp, has played the past two seasons with the Dallas Stars U18 Major Midget AAA hockey club. |

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are excited to announce the commitment of forward Cole Todd to the team for the 2013-14 season.
Cole Todd is a ’95 born 6’ 1” 175 pound right-handed forward from North Vancouver, BC. Todd is a gifted forward with a strong physical presence in all situations. As an assistant captain with the Vancouver Northwest Giants this past season, Todd helped the team capture their fifth consecutive BC Major Midget League Championship. Todd finished the 2012-13 season with 10 goals, 19 assists and 62 penalty minutes in 39 games played. |

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are excited to announce the commitment of defencman Danny Kiraly to the team for the 2013-14 season.
Danny Kiraly is a '95 born 6' 1" 180 pound defenceman from Glendale, Arizona. Kiraly is an offensive defenseman with tremendous skating ability. He has been selected to the US National Hockey Camp for the top two hundred players, once for each position. He has played the past two seasons with the Phoenix Junior Coyotes team finishing with 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 78 games with 83 penalty minutes. |

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) would like to announce the commitment of Braiden Epp to their team commencing with the 2013/14 season.
Epp is a Prince George hockey product currently playing with the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Major Midget League. He has also played one game this season as an affiliate player for the Spruce Kings. In 32 games, Epp has tallied 25 goals and 30 assists with the Cougars as well as 53 minutes in penalties. A 1996 born player (10/01/96), Epp is a 5’ 11” 170lbs right handed forward. |

For many players still in high school, beginning their junior hockey career involves moving away from home, being away from family and friends and going to a new school.
For 17 year-old Jake LeBrun of the Prince George Spruce Kings, there's a certain comfort level to being part of his hometown team.
With a course load that includes chemistry and pre-calculus, LeBrun is able to balance being a rookie in the BCHL and his courses by relying on beliefs that are instilled in him by his family and the Spruce Kings.
"School's always been first around my house and even around the team," says LeBrun. "School is always the first priority, but having a spare block (for team practices) really helps too." |
