Spruce Kings Commit to Asher Netherton

The Prince George Spruce Kings are pleased to announce the commitment of 2009 born goaltender Asher Netherton for the 2026-2027 season.

Netherton is 6’1, 190 pounds from Kelowna, BC, and has played the last three seasons with RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna. Last season, Netherton went 13-1 with a 1.86 GAA and a .937 SV% for the U18 Prep team.  He won an additional three games in the playoffs, including the CSSHL U18 Prep Championship game. He will join RINK teammates Max Reed and Rhett Tubello on the Spruce Kings.

Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes: “Asher is a young goalie who really impressed our staff with his maturity on and off the ice. He did very well in his past three seasons at a very good program at RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna. We look forward to working with him on the next stage of his development.”

Asher Netherton: “I’m excited and honoured to join the Spruce Kings and become part of such a respected organization. The team’s culture, dedicated staff, and strong commitment to player development make this a great fit for me. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to contributing and getting started with the team.”
