Spruce Kings Camps

Brandon Manning – Camp Director/Spruce Kings Assistant Coach

Brandon was born and raised in PG, and played all of his minor hockey locally before joining the Spruce Kings as a 17-year-old defenceman. His hockey journey then took him to the WHL with the Chilliwack Bruins before he signed his first NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Brandon was fortunate to play for three historic franchises including the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers. Following professional stops in Germany and Sweden, he has returned to where it all started.

Brad Tesink – Spruce Kings Head Coach

Brad Tesink is entering his fourth season with the Spruce Kings, and second as Head Coach, compiling a record of 51-31-4-1, leading the team to their first Coastal East Banner since 2018.  Hailing from Saint John, New Brunswick, Tesink played four seasons of major junior hockey, and in 2010, Tesink won the Maritime Junior Hockey League championship with the Woodstock Slammers. Tesink began his coaching career in 2016 serving as the assistant coach of the Saint John Sea Dogs U15 AAA. He later became the head coach of the team the following season.

Brad Tobin – Spruce Kings Associate Coach

Brad Tobin joined the Spruce Kings for the 2025-26 season. A native of North Delta,BC, he has been involved with junior hockey since 2010, having been behind the bench for over 800 junior games. Tobin was involved with the Surrey Eagles for ten seasons in various roles of Assistant Coach, Assistant GM and Head Scout. He was a member of the 2012-13 Fred Page Cup and Western Canada Cup Champions. He helped recruit and coach notable alumni including Devon Toews (108th overall, 2014-NYI), Danton Heinen (116th overall, 2014-BOS) and many other players who have gone on to play professionally in North America and Europe. Over the years he has been involved with numerous minor hockey associations and hockey academies, running development skates and team evaluations.

Jeremy Gervais – Instructor

Jeremy began playing minor hockey in Prince George, developing through the local system before finishing with the Cariboo Cougars. He then went on to play three seasons of junior hockey with the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers and the AJHL’s Bonnyville Pontiacs, finishing his junior career with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Following junior hockey, Jeremy earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division I hockey at Lake Superior State University. Jeremy then played one season of professional hockey in the United States before continuing his professional career overseas in Germany, where he has just completed his second season.

Mason Loewen – Hockey School Lead Instructor/Spruce Kings #23

Mason Loewen began playing competitive hockey at age 11 in Fort St. John after growing up in Charlie Lake, BC. After playing for the Northeast BC Trackers U15 Program, Mason advanced to the U18 team, which was an important step in his development working with a great coaching staff, plus skills and strength coaches. He would then spend two years with the Cariboo Cougars developing with extra ice and practice reps, before making the jump to the BCHL. In two seasons with the Spruce Kings, Mason has scored 25 goals and added 24 assists in 95 games, while playing in key situations on the penalty kill.
