WENATCHEE WA – Five different Prince George Spruce Kings found the back of the net, propelling the visitors to a 5-3 victory over the Wenatchee Wild on New Year’s Eve.

PG: On a Wild power-play, the puck was mishandled by the Wild defender at the blue line, and Kilian McGregor-Bennett took full advantage was able to tuck home a backhand on a breakaway the other way and slid it through the legs of Tyler Shea to make it 1-0. McGregor-Bennett’s fourth of the season came shorthanded and unassisted at 4:23.
PG: Not even two minutes later, a gorgeous passing play led by Luc Laylin and Nick Marciano, set up Kolton Cousins in tight and out waited the goaltender Tyler Shea and went to his backhand to make it 2-0. Cousins’ 10th of the season was assisted by both Laylin and Marciano at 6:10.
PG: A few minutes later, Rowan Miller got the puck at the right circle, and made a no look drop pass to Nick Rhéaume who wired home his 14th of the season top shelf on the blocker side of Shea to make it 3-0. Rheaume’s tally had the lone helper credited to Miller at 13:32.
WEN: At the end of a PG power-play, the Wild created a 2 on 1 the other way and Anthony Cafarelli spotted Owen Bohn who made no mistake in the slot, ripping it by Aaron Trotter to get the Wild on the board. Bohn’s team leading 12th of the year was assisted by Bohn at 17:04.
PG: The Spruce Kings were able to respond not too long afterwards. Colton Cameron spotted Nick Rheaume who carried the puck up the right wing, his shot was blocked and it directed to Simon Labelle at the left circle and put it the wide open cage to make 4-1. Labelle’s seventh of the season was assisted by both Rhéaume and Cameron at 18:39.

WEN: On a Wild man advantage, Cade Littler got the puck at the left side of the goal and snuck it short side by Trotter to make it 4-2. Littler’s 11th of the year was assisted by both Mario Gasparini and Ean Somoza at 7:41.
PG: In the attacking zone, Luc Laylin was able to pick the pocket of the Wenatchee defender at the bottom of the left circle, and took the puck to his backhand and shovelled it by Shea to regain the three goal lead. Laylin’s second of the season was unassisted at 10:05.
WEN: As the Wenatchee power-play came to a close, Brett Oberle’s wrist shot from the mid-point went through the legs of Aaron Trotter to make it 5-3. Oberle’s third of the season was assisted by Brasen Boser and Hunter Hastings at 19:28.
