Cousins Scores 5th Goal in 4 Games En Route to a 3-0 Victory

CHILLIWACK BC – Corey Cunningham, Nick Rhéaume, and Kolton Cousins all found the back of the net, and Kobe Grant earned his second shutout in his second start, as the Prince George Spruce Kings triumphed to a 3-0 victory over the Merritt Centennials on Sunday night.

 

1st Period:

 

PG: At 7:59 of the opening frame on a Spruce Kings power-play, Christian Buono put the puck right to the tape of Corey Cunningham in the slot and redirected the puck top corner over the shoulder of Josh Dias to give the Spruce Kings the lead. Cunningham’s first of the pod was assisted by Buono and Mason Waite.

 

PG: On a five minute Spruce King power-play, a Simon Labelle shot was stopped by Dias, but Nick Rheaume gobbled up the rebound and shovelled it by Dias to double the Spruce Kings lead. Rheaume’s fifth in the pod, was assisted by Labelle and John Herrington at 9:57.

PG: 8:26 into the frame, Kolton Cousins took the puck down the right wing, and ripped it top corner past Dias to make it a 3-0 game. That was Cousins’ fifth goal in his last four games. Corey Cunningham had the lone helper on Cousins’ sixth of the pod season.
