PENTICTON- The Prince George Spruce Kings made the trip to the Okanagan this past weekend.

They had two games on the schedule. First, it was a date with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday night.

The Kings started hot Friday, scoring on their first shot of the game. Owen Goodbrand (’04) slid his ninth goal of the season through the legs of Silverbacks goaltender Ei Pulver (’03).

Unfortunately, that would be the only Spruce Kings lead of the weekend. Less than two minutes after Goodbrand’s goal, the Silverbacks would strike back. Issac Lambert (’03) would score his first of three goals late in the first period.

Salmon Arm would extend their lead in the second period. 2-1, the score after 40 minutes of play.

The Silverbacks would deliver the dagger just eight seconds into the third period. Salmon Arm would make it 3-1 after Issac Lambert buried his third goal of the game finishing a two-on-one chance.

Salmon Arm would beat Spruce Kings goaltender Charlie Zolin (’04) two more times in the final frame. Prince George got one goal back courtesy of Luca Primerano late in the game. 5-2, the final score Friday night.
