PRINCE GEORGE BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings are thrilled to announce the signing of forward and Holy Cross commit Dom Murphy (03) for the 2022-23 season. Murphy, from Worcester MA, spent the 2021-22 season with St. Marks School of the United States High School Prep League (USHS-Prep), finishing with an impressive 53 points in just 28 games played.
“I am super excited to join the team next season. What stood out to me the most was the team’s professionalism and commitment to development” – Murphy on joining the Spruce Kings
Not only was Murphy well over a point per game in his second year at St. Marks, but the year prior he also had a terrific season, which included 16 goals and 16 helpers, good for 32 points in just 29 games. He is known to being a point producer, but assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel Craig Carter says there is a lot more to his game than just his scoring.
“Dom is another exciting add to next season’s forward core. He is sure to be a fan favourite with his hard-working two-way style of play. Dom possesses a strong offensive skill set. Combined with this exceptional skating ability and hockey sense. Speaking with him and his family, it was very clear he was a person and player who will fit in seamlessly in PG”. – Carter on Dom Murphy
The 5’11, 170 pound forward says his build, his offensive ability, and awareness are some of his biggest assets to his game.
“I would say my style of play is a strong forward who likes to pass the puck” – Murphy on his playing style.
The Spruce Kings are excited to welcome Dom and his family to the organization and to the city of Prince George!
