Spruce Kings Drop Game Three 4-0 Against Trail

PRINCE GEORGE BC – It was a tough night all around for the Prince George Spruce Kings as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the Trail Smoke Eaters in Game #3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

 

 

1st Period:

NO SCORING

SHOTS: 12-7 Trail

 

2nd Period:

 

TRA: Off an offensive zone faceoff, forward Kent Johnson made a saucer pass in the middle to Owen Ozar and Ozar deked around goaltender Jett Alexander to give the Smoke Eaters a 1-0 lead in the second frame. Ozar’s second of the post-season came 59 seconds into the period from Johnson and Michael Colella.

 

SHOTS: 13-11 Trail

 

3rd Period:

TRA: 4:47 into the third Michael Collela threw the puck towards Alexander at an awkward angle, the puck then redirected off of Alexander’s heel and into the back of the net to make it 2-0 Trail. Matt Osadick had the lone helper on Collela’s first of the playoffs.

TRA: At 9:45 of the frame on the power-play, Phillipee Lapointe got a gift of a pass from Diarmad DiMurro in the back door and slid it past Alexander to up the Trail lead to three. Lapointe’s second of the playoffs came from DiMurro and Owen Ozar.

TRA: At 17:16 again on the man advantage, the puck found Chase Dafoe around the goal mouth and the Kelowna native slid it past Alexander to put the game out of reach to a 4-0 score. Dafoe’s first of the playoffs came from Collela and Johnson.
