Hunter Price acquired from USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings announced they have acquired forward Hunter Price (’03) from the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for future considerations.

In 16 games with the Phantoms this season, the Calgary, AB product scored four points (one goal, three assists). In 2021-22, Price dressed for the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). He played in 53 games with the Thunder, scoring 13 goals and 31 assists (44 points), placing him second on the team in points.

“Adding a player like Hunter to our group is going to make our team much stronger overall,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “He’s a tremendous young man with good size, speed and skill and plays the game hard. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Prince George.”

In conjunction with the acquisition of Price, the Spruce Kings have also traded defenceman Liam Hunks (’04) to the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for future considerations.
