PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce the addition of 20-year-old forward J.R. Perdion (’03) for the 2023-24 BC Hockey League season.

A product of Strongsville, Ohio, Perdion comes to Prince George after spending three seasons in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In 54 games with the Odessa Jackalopes, Perdion scored 10 goals and 18 assists (28 points). The season prior, Perdion scored 17 goals and 18 assists (35 points) in 59 games with Odessa.

“I’m thrilled about the opportunity to be a part of such a historic program,” said Perdion. “With this being my final year of juniors, I loved Coach Evin’s emphasis on winning and I look forward to having a successful season with the Spruce Kings.”

“We are excited to add J.R. to our hockey team,” said head coach Alex Evin. “He brings over 150 games of junior experience and we are hoping he can add to the offensive side of our forward group.”

In total, the five-foot-eleven, 181-pound forward played 154 games in the NAHL, tallying up 34 goals and 39 assists (73 points) and 46 penalty minutes.

Perdion has committed to play for an NCAA D1 program. When the 2023-24 season wraps up he will suit up for the Long Island University Sharks. LIU has campuses located in Brooklyn and Brookville, New York.

“J.R. is a veteran player who will contribute in all zones and will be relied upon heavily by our coaches,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “He’s also a tremendous young man with a ton of motivation and focus. He is a great addition to our group.”

Welcome to Prince George, J.R.!
