The Prince George Spruce Kings are proud to announce that Director of Communications and Broadcasting Cole Waldie has accepted a job with the Western Hockey League’s Prince George Cougars as their new Play by Play Voice.
Waldie has been with the Spruce Kings for 3 seasons, starting in 2019-2020 and continuing through the Chilliwack Pod and this past 50th Anniversary Campaign.
Cole Waldie: “I can’t thank Mike Hawes, Alex Evin, Kyle Anderson, David Keough, and all the Prince George Spruce Kings staff and players enough for an amazing three years that I will never forget. I am forever grateful for being part of such a great program”
General Manager Mike Hawes: “It’s has always been my approach with this organization to assist our players, coaches or any other staff members as they move up the ladder in the hockey world. Cole comes from a solid background. I’ve known his family for a lot of years and based on that I was thrilled when he joined us fresh out of school. He’s done an amazing job for us not only with the broadcast but in many other ways as well. He got better and better every season and took a lot of pride as he delivered our product to our fans. I feel that he worked his way up over the past few seasons and became one of the best play by play announcers in the BCHL. Combine that with the terrific job he did with the communications side of his job and I’m not surprised that this new opportunity came his way. The Spruce Kings, and I personally, wish Cole nothing but success in this new venture. I know he will do very well.”
