PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are happy to announce the commitment of forward Brogan McNeil (’06) for the 2023-24 BC Hockey League season.

A product of Delta, B.C., McNeil spent the past few seasons at the Delta Hockey Academy. In 32 games last season with the U18 prep team, the right-handed shooter tallied 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points. Come playoff time, he added a goal and five assists in four games.

“The recruiting process was great. I felt very welcomed and comfortable with the coaches and players,” said McNeil. “I chose the Prince George Spruce Kings organization because it is a great organization that comes highly recommended by my peers and past coaches. Also, I feel my potential growth as a player will happen in Prince George.”

During the 2021-22 season, McNeil played 35 games with the Delta Hockey Academy U16 Prep team. He scored 19 goals and 12 assists ( 31 points) that season.

“It’s really exciting to add Brogan to our recruiting class for next season,” said Spruce Kings assistant general manager Craig Carter. “Brogan is a big body with a good skillset who will fit right into our lineup and be a highly competitive player for us for years to come.”

The six-foot-two 172-pound forward describes his style of play as being a gritty power forward that possesses a good shot and carries the ability to impact a game with his physical presence.

“To prepare myself to enter the BCHL, throughout this offseason, I will be doing lots of on-ice training at Impact Hockey Development U20 with Tim Preston and off-ice work with a personal trainer,” said McNeil. “Also, I will be doing some off-ice shooting with Brent Thurston.”

The Spruce Kings would like to welcome Brogan to the family and look forward to him joining us in Northern B.C.
