Spruce Kings Score Twice On Power-Play And Take Game 1 With a 4-1 Victory Over The Cranbrook Bucks

PRINCE GEORGE BC – Goals from Simon Labelle, Nick Marciano, Ty Gagno, and Luc Laylin, along with a terrific effort from Aaron Trotter, gave the Spruce Kings a Game 1 victory, defeating Cranbrook 4-1.

1st PERIOD:

 PG: Just over three minutes into the game, a Rowan Miller shot from the left circle was stopped by Nathan Airey, but the rebound came to Simon Labelle in front of the goal and wired home his first of the playoffs to make it 1-0. Labelle’s tally was assisted by both Miller and Nick Rhéaume at 3:57.

PG: On a Prince George power-play, a Nick Marciano wrister from the point found its way through traffic and went top shelf on Nathan Airey to double the Spruce Kings lead. Marciano’s first of the playoffs and first as a Spruce King was assisted by Ty Gagno and Simon Labelle at 9:18.

2nd PERIOD:

 PG: On another PG power-play, Ty Gagno got the puck at the right circle, and he wired the puck top corner on Airey to make it 3-0 Prince George. Gagno’s first of the post-season was assisted by Kolton Cousins and Nick Marciano at 13:03.

3rd PERIOD:

 PG: As the Spruce Kings power-play ended, Luc Laylin made a terrific play at the left side of the goal and was able to sneak the puck in by Airey to put the Spruce Kings up 4-0. Laylin’s first of the playoffs had the assists credited to Nick Rhéaume and Josh Wright at 17:57.

CRA: In the final seconds of the third, Zeth Kindrachuk wired one by the glove of Aaron Trotter in the slot to get the Bucks on the board. The Kindrachuk tally was assisted by Brendan Rogers and Declan Ride at 19:35.
