Spruce Kings Fall 2-1 In OT Against Vipers

PRINCE GEORGE BC – It was another tight battle between the Prince George Spruce Kings and the Vernon Vipers, and it was late game heroics from the Vipers as they edged Prince George 2-1 in overtime.

1st PERIOD:

 PG: Off an offensive zone faceoff win, the puck came to Nick Rhéaume in the slot, and fired it off the glove and Roan Clarke and in to give the Spruce Kings a 1-0 lead. Rhéaume’s 20th of the season was assisted by both Simon Labelle and Rowan Miller at 7:06.

2nd PERIOD:

VER: In the later stages of the second stanza, Nicholas Kent came streaking down the left side in the attacking zone and shot the puck from a bad angle and roofed it top corner over Aaron Trotter to tie the game at one. Kent’s fifth of the year was assisted by Cameron MacDonald and Ryan Shostak at 16:31.

OVERTIME:

 VER: In the final minute of the extra frame, Reagan Milburn took the puck down the left wing and fired a shot top corner on Aaron Trotter to give the Vipers a 2-1 win. Milburn’s 10th was set up by both Ryan Shostak and Griffen Barr at 4:08.
