Spruce Kings Draw First Blood at LNG Canada Road Show

KITIMAT, BC – Corey Cunningham finished with two goals and an assist, while Jett Alexander stood tall making 32 saves to give the Spruce Kings a 5-1 victory at the LNG Canada Road Show at the Tamitik Arena in Kitimat.

 

 

1st Period:

PG: At 4:11 of the period, Andrew Seaman got a great feed from Kolton Cousins on the left wing and Seaman fired it past goaltender Jonathan Mor to give the Spruce Kings an early lead. Cousins had the lone helper on Seaman’s 3rd of the year.

PG: The Spruce Kings headed to the man advantage and were able to convert. Haydn Delorme got the puck in the left circle and wired it top corner on Mor to give the Spruce Kings a 2-0 lead. Nolan Welsh and Corey Cunningham had the two assists on Delorme’s third of the year.

SHOTS: 18-8 Prince George

 

2nd Period:

 

PG: 1:36 into the period, the Spruce Kings were able to tally another on the power-play. Fin Williams got a rebound around the goal mouth and shovelled it by Mor to give the Spruce Kings a three goal lead. Nolan Welsh and Corey Cunningham had the two helpers on Williams’ 11th of the season.

PG: Corey Cunningham forced a turnover in the offensive zone, got the puck, and made a great move, opening up Mor and put through the wickets of the Langley goaltender to make it 4-0 Prince George. Cunningham’s team leading 24th of the year was unassisted at 5:29.

LAN: The puck was worked to Brian Scoville at the left point and his shot was tipped in front by Hunter McCoy and past Jett Alexander to make it 4-1. Scoville had the lone helper on McCoy’s 12th of the year at the 15 minute mark of the period.

 

SHOTS: 14-8 Langley

 

 

3rd Period:

PG: At 9:34 of the period, the Spruce Kings scored yet another power-play goal. Cunningham got the puck in front of the goal off a rebound and put it by Braedon Fleming to make it 5-1. Nolan Welsh and Fin Williams had the two helpers on Cunningham’s second of the evening
