Spruce Kings Commit to Mikhalchuk

The Prince George Spruce Kings are pleased to announce the commitment of 2008 born forward Leon Mikhalchuk for the 2025-2026 season.

Mikhalchuk is 6’3, 181 pounds from Minsk, Belarus who has been playing for Yunost Minsk in the Belarus U18 league.  Last season, he scored 25 goals and added 17 assists for 42 points in 39 games.

If the name Mikhalchuk sounds familiar to those in Prince George, Leon’s brother Vladislav played two seasons for the WHL’s Cougars from 2018 to 2020.

Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes: “Leon is a young player with great size and tremendous skill who has a huge upside and loads of potential. We’re very excited to add him to the group and we’re thrilled to work with him on his development.

Leon Mikhalchuk: “Joining the Prince George Spruce Kings has a lot of positives on and off the ice. I am looking forward to playing in a higher level of hockey with skilled coaches and meeting new people. I’m excited to learn English and different Canadian traditions and customs.”
