PRINCE GEORGE BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce that they have added forward Connor Bowie (’01) and defenceman Aiden Reeves (’02) to the team’s roster on loan from the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
The Western Hockey League has agreed to allow teams to loan their players to Junior A teams until December 20th at which time they will rejoin their WHL team.
“We are excited to be able to add both Connor and Aiden to our roster on loan from the Cougars. I’d like to thank Mark Lamb and the Cougars for their cooperation with this process,” says GM Mike Hawes. “Both players will add experience and leadership to our group and they both know that this is a good opportunity individually for them to continue their development as players.”
Both Bowie and Reeves are northern BC products with Bowie being from Fort St. John and Reeves from Prince George, BC. Hawes says that was one of many reasons why this was the right decision.
“Connor and Aiden both call northern BC home. It is always nice to be able to add northern BC players. It was also important to me that we had two open roster spots and that we did not have to release a player to make room for Connor and Aiden.”
Bowie, 19, finished the 2019-20 season with 12 goals and 11 assists for the Prince George Cougars. The Fort St. John product has played a total of 136 games in the WHL and has 31 points in those games.

Reeves, 18, played 7 games with the Spruce Kings in 2019-20 before joining the Cougars where he suited up for 12 games. Reeves also played 20 games last season with the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Major Midget League (BCMML) where he racked up 22 points in 28 games.

“It is going to be important this season for us to carry 25 rostered players,” added Hawes. “Due to cohort restrictions, it is difficult to utilize affiliate players in our games when we have injuries, therefore carrying 25 players is vital.”
The Spruce Kings would like to welcome Connor, Aiden and their families to the organization!
The Spruce Kings pre-season schedule continues on Saturday, November 7th against the Merritt Centennials at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. You can catch all of the action on Hockey TV and Mixlr.
