CHILLIWACK BC – Although the Spruce Kings found themselves in the box too many times, they were able to get big offensive contributions from Nick Rheaume and Carter Cochrane who both scored twice to help the Spruce Kings defeat the Chilliwack Chiefs 5-3.

1st Period:

PG: After a great feed from Christian Buono in the neutral zone, Kolton Cousins had a phenomenal effort driving to the goal and got tripped up in the process, and the puck ended up on the stick of Carter Cochrane who fired it in the open cage to give PG the lead. The time of Cochrane’s tally was at 18:56.

3rd Period:

PG: 6:25 into the frame, it was Labelle again who was able to set up Nick Rhéaume and fired the puck into the yawning cage to score his second of the night. Labelle and Ben LeFranc had the two helpers on Rheaumes third of the Pod season.

CWK: Just over a minute later, Ethan Bowen ripped one past Fairlie from the left circle to cut the Spruce Kings deficit to one. Bowen’s third of the Pod season was assisted by Penney and Longo at 7:33.

PG: The Spruce Kings found themselves shorthanded for the 5th time in the game, and a great effort from Christian Buono to take the puck away and spring it ahead for Rowan Miller and Miller fired it past Mathieu Caron shorthanded to make it 4-2 Prince George. Buono had the lone assist on Miller’s first in the pod.

CWK: At 12:08, it was once again Tanner Andrew who got a spot in the slot and fired it past Fairlie to make it a 4-3 game. Andrew’s second of the night and third of the season was assited by Brett Rylance.

PG: With the Chiefs net empty, Carter Cochrane was able to deposit the puck in the open cage on the man advantage to seal the deal for the Spruce Kings. The power-play empty netter came at 18:54 and Andrew Seaman had the lone helper.
