RECAP: Spruce Kings Chalk Up First Win of Pre-Season in Merritt

 

MERRITT BC – Rowan Miller, Max Borovinskiy, and Nick Rheaume all scored their first goals in Spruce King colours, while Aaron Trotter got his first win as a Spruce King making 27 saves to lead the Spruce Kings to a 4-1 win to kick off the pre-season.

 

 

 

 

1st Period:

 

PG: At 10:06 of the period, Rowan Miller netted his first of the pre-season as he poked the puck in tight past goalie Josh Dias to give PG the early lead on the power-play. Christian Buono had the lone helper on the Miller tally.

 

PG: At 11:34 of the first, 16 year old Max Borovinskiy got a great feed from Hunor Torzsok and made no mistake with a  nice little move around Dias to double the Spruce Kings lead. Torzsok had the lone helper on Borovinskiy’s first of the pre-season.

2nd Period:

 

PG: 3:27 into the frame, Corey Cunningham forced a turnover in the offensive zone and was able to deposit the puck by Dias to make it a 3-0 Spruce Kings lead. Cunningham’s first of the pre-season came unassisted.

 

PG: Sherbrooke, QC product Nick Rhéaume hammered the puck past Dias in tight to make it 4-0. The Spruce King newcomer’s first of the pre-season came from Hunor Torzsok and Max Borovinskiy at 15:55.

 

MER: Jerzy Orchard took the puck to the right circle and snuck it five hole past Aaron Trotter to get the Centennials on the board. The Orchard marker came at 16:57 of the period.
