 The Game

 

The Prince George Spruce Kings take on the Merritt Centennials at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena for their 4th matchup of the pre-season, and the second and final home game of the exhibition season.

The Centennials defeated the Spruce Kings 13 days ago by a 2-1 score. Andrew Seaman had the lone tally for the Spruce Kings in the second period, while goaltender Aaron Trotter took the loss in goal, making 15 saves.

Merritt got goals from both Grayson Valente and a late third period tally from Ben Ward which was the eventual game winner. Colton Phillips-Watts made his debut for the Cents and was victorious, making 24 saves.

 

Players to watch

 

Spruce Kings forward and Quinnipiac Commit Austin Spiridakis will make his Spruce Kings debut tonight. Spiridakis was battling a lower body injury at the beginning of the extended training camp. The St. Albert product finished with 12 goals and 7 assists with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in 2019-20.

 

Centennials goaltender Josh Dias gets the start this evening for Merritt and his third start against the Spruce Kings this pre-season. Dias is 0-2 vs Prince George with a 5.00 GAA.
