Game Preview: November 11th vs Coquitlam Express

Venue: Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre

Game Time: Friday November 11th @7pm

Things haven’t been pretty lately for the Coquitlam Express. The team hasn’t won a game since October 21st, and has just one win since October 8th. Injuries have hit the team hard, and the team’s leading scorer Owen Stout has been MIA since the road trip up to Prince George.

The last time these two teams met it was the Express coming up with the shocking tie as they were able to hold down the Spruce Kings team cheered on by a season high 1463 fans. The 2-2 draw was followed up the next night with Prince George finding their offensive legs, and defeating Coquitlam 6-4.

Home ice hasn’t been nice to Coquitlam either as they are tied with the Silverbacks for fewest points recorded at home. Things haven’t been great on the other end for Prince George, as they’ve won just twice away from the RMCA.

STANDINGS:

With the two points last night, the Surrey Eagles are not the team on the heels of Prince George. Fortunately the Spruce Kings have a five point lead, but the Eagles do have a game in hand.

Thanks to their recent slide, the Coquitlam Express sit last in the division with 14 points. They’re just two points behind Surrey and Langley, but both of those teams have a game in hand.

WHO TO WATCH:

PRINCE GEORGE:

Jamie Huber – FWD: Last time his team played the Express, Huber was able to play himself out of a goal scoring drought. A season high eight game goalless streak ended, and Huber was able to find the net three times in the doubleheader. He hasn’t scored since, and will surely be looking to find the score sheet in his first trip to Coquitlam.

Liam Watson-Brawn – DEF: With family in the crowd tonight, LWB would love to repeat his performance in the last game against Coquitlam. The rookie defenseman pair with Adam Burnett had two assists, including the secondary helper on the game winner.

COQUITLAM:

Jordan Schulting- DEF: Of the eight points Schulting has this season, the defenseman had three in the two games against Prince George. He had four points in three games, but has gone without a point in the most recent two.
