  1. US

The Spruce Kings enter the final home game of 2019, coming off a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Coquitlam Express. Mason Waite and Nolan Welsh had the two goals for Prince George, while Jett Alexander made 29 saves in the loss. Fin Williams, Evan Orr, Nick Bochen, and Corey Cunningham all had helpers in the defeat as well heading into tonight’s game. Williams knows last night’s game was tough, but he also knows that his club is right there, they are just coming on the short end of the stick,

“We are going to turn a corner here soon. We are coming. I think we still have a lot more to give and hopefully we can do that tomorrow (tonight)”.

THEM

The Express win over Prince George marked their 10th win a row and improved to league leading 29-5. Steven Bellini, Will Margel, Drew Cooper, and Greg Lapointe all found the back of the net for the Express to give them the victory. Clay Stevenson got the win in goal making 20 saves.

  1. US VS THEM

This is the fourth meeting between Prince George and Coquitlam. Prince George has yet to beat Coquitlam this season. The closest matchup this year was just over a month ago back in Coquitlam where the Express defeated the Spruce Kings in a shootout.

  1. THIS AND THAT

THIS: Following tonight’s game with the Express, the Spruce Kings will take on the Express one more time before the holidays on Wednesday afternoon at the Poirer Sport and Leisure Complex. That contest is slated for a 12:00 PM puck drop. THAT: Defenceman Mason Waite has scored the Spruce Kings first goal of the game in the last three games, all coming on the power-play. The Winnipeg product leads Spruce Kings defencemen in points.

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

SPRUCE KINGS (F) FIN WILLIAMS

Williams may not have a goal yet since returning to the lineup, but he has still been so effective for Prince George. Williams continues to average a point per game this season and has had four helpers since being back in the Spruce Kings lineup. With a slim lineup, Williams will look to lead his club to a victory against a good hockey team in Coquitlam.

EXPRESS – (D) DREW COOPER

The Express captain is one steady defender. Cooper logs lots of minutes and seems to be in the right place at the right time on all occasions. The Captain had a goal last night and was awarded 3rd star honours. He will look for more of the same tonight vs Prince George.
