It was an electric atmosphere at the RMCA last night as the Spruce Kings skated to a 3-2 overtime victory against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Jett Alexander was sensational in back to back outings as number 35 made 35 saves in the victory. Nolan Welsh had a night to remember, as the captain scored all three Spruce King goals after an 8 game absence due to a hip injury. Welsh says he couldn’t have a scripted a better way to come back in the line-up,

“I was so excited to get back, it is always tough watching in the stands, especially when the team has been struggling a little bit, but again it was good to be back and help the team get a win.”

Alexander spoke last night as well, and knows this Chilliwack team won’t go down lightly,

“The work isn’t even close to being done, we got them here again and they are going to have a bad taste in their mouth, so we have to be ready to go and play Spruce King hockey.”

THEM

The Chiefs remain in Prince George for the back half of the double header in the BC Northern Capital. The goal scorers for Chilliwack in the overtime loss came from affiliated player Dawson Good who redirected a pass from Tyler Cristall. Reynolds knows that his club had their chances last night, and is looking to build off that into tonight’s game

“I thought we had some unlucky bounces, we had all the chances we needed, but it just didn’t go our way, so hopefully tomorrow (tonight), things will go our way.”
