  1. US

Tonight is Cancer Awareness Night for the Prince George Spruce Kings as they host the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Prince George is coming off a 1-0 loss in the hands of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Jett Alexander made 29 saves in that outing, including a spectacular paddle save on a 2 on 1. Alexander will likely get the start tonight and knows that his team still has a lot more to give than what the record shows.

“It is a process, our record isn’t where we want it to be, the injury bug has hit us obviously, but to be honest we just need to worry about doing our job. That is when success will come our way. If we all are on the same page, the goals will come and we will be successful,” said Alexander.

THEM

The Chiefs are coming off a 4-1 loss against the Vernon Vipers at Kal Tire Place in Vernon. 16-year-old Peter Reynolds had the lone goal for Chilliwack, while goaltender Kolby Thornton made 29 saves in the loss. Reynolds also has recently been named to Team Canada at the Under 17 Challenge. The Chiefs currently sit 2nd in the Mainland division heading into tonight’s clash with Prince George

  1. PLAYERS TO WATCH

SPRUCE KINGS (G) JETT ALEXANDER

Alexander is coming off two losses that easily could have been a different result last weekend against Nanaimo and Salmon Arm. Alexander got credited for the loss in Chilliwack and has a chance to get some revenge tonight in the second feature game of the season tonight at the RMCA.

CHIEFS – (G) ETHAN BOWEN

The Abbotsford native has had a start to remember thus far. Bowen currently sits with a team leading 17 points and had a hat trick in the win a month ago against the Spruce Kings. Bowen has also been listed as a C Prospect on the NHL Central Scouting list.
