Wenatchee takes early strangleold of Fred Page Cup against Spruce Kings

An opportunistic effort from the Wenatchee Wild saw their playoff home record improve to 10-0 after a  4-2 wi over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Saturday.

Blake Hayward scored twice for the visitors, beating Wild goaltender Austin Park.

opened the scoring

AJ Vanderbeck tallied twice and added two assists while Lucas Sowder chipped in with his eighth goal of the playoffs.

Spruce Kings goalie Evan DeBrouwer made 30 saves as Wenatchee outshot Prince George 34-15.

Weatherby iced the win with an empty-netter with 44 seconds remaining to give him a whopping 35 points (15 goals) in 17 games.

Wenatchee leads the Fred Page Cup Final 2-0 with Games Three and Four  Monday and Tuesday at 7PM from the  Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
