Warriors handily defeat Spruce Kings to wrap up Okanagan road swing

A semi-successful three-game road trip ended with a resounding thud on Sunday for the Prince George Spruce Kings.

After winning against Vernon and losing in a shootout against Penticton, the West Kelowna Warriors blitzed the Spruce Kings out of the gate with a trio of first period goals enroute to a 6-1 win.

Mike Hardman, Anthony Bishop, and Wyatt Head lit the lamp in the opening 20 minutes while Nick Bochen replied for Prince George making it a 3-1 game.

Things went from bad to worse for the Spruce Kings in the second giving up another three spot to Chase Dubois, Parm Dhaliwal and Willie Reim.

Keenan Rancier was pulled early in the second period giving up two goals on nine shots.

The Warriors went two-for-three on the power-play despite getting outshot 45-24, including a 36-12 margin in the last two periods.

Prince George finds themselves five points back of the Chilliwack Chiefs  for the Mainland Division lead.

The Spruce Kings return home next Friday and Saturday when they welcome the Coquitlam Express at 7pm from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
