Vipers Hand Spruce Kings Fifth Straight Loss, Spruce Kings Fall 2-0

VERNON BC – Despite limiting the opposition to just 15 shots, it was a pair of goals from Zack Tonelli that proved to be the difference, as the Vernon Vipers hand the Spruce Kings their fifth straight loss, defeating Prince George 2-0.

 VER: Viper defenceman Talon Zakall got the puck at the right point, and the shot found its way toward the goal and was redirected by Zack Tonelli over the blocker side of Aaron Trotter to give the Vipers a 1-0 lead. Tonelli’s 10th of the season was assisted by Zakall at 5:21.

VER: On a Viper power-play, Ben LeFranc was able to block a shot in front of the goal, however a few moments later, the puck was driven toward the goal and the puck hit the body of Tonelli and got by Trotter to make it 2-0 Vipers. Tonelli’s second of the night and 11th of the season was assisted by Luke Buss at 10:36 .
