Early this season the Prince George Spruce Kings saw a need on defense, and they filled it by trading for Tyler Anderson. They had to send away long time Spruce Kings Braiden Epp, but in return they received a defenseman who leads the league in goals amongst blueliners. In his first 42 games, he had 16 goals. To put that in perspective compared to his previous offense, in the four seasons prior (one with the West Kelowna Warriors, one with the Kindersley Clipppers of the SJHL, and two with the AAA midget Eastman Selects) he had 13 goals in 154 games.

Along with Brett Mennear, Anderson is one of the two Spruce Kings player who owns a RBC Cup ring. With the Warriors last season they completed the triple crown winning the Fred Page Cup, Western Canada Cup, and RBC Cup. In 35 games beyond the regular season, Anderson had one goal and seven assists.
