VERNON BC – Two second period goals from Kilian McGregor-Bennett and Nick Rheaume, backed by 21 saves by Aaron Trotter, propelled the Prince George Spruce Kings back in the win column by a 3-1 score over the Vernon Vipers.

1st PERIOD:

VER: 29 seconds into the hockey game, Aaron Trotter robbed Ryan Shostak with the pad, the rebound ended up sitting in the blue paint area, and Luke Buss whacked it home to give the Vipers an early lead. Buss’ team leading sixth goal of the season was assisted by Shostak and Matthew Culling.

PG: Rowan Miller was able to beat out a potential icing call and won the race to the puck on the right wing. The puck ended up behind the goal, and then Kilian McGregor-Bennett picked the pocket of Ayden Third and spotted Simon Labelle at the left circle and rifled it by Ethan David to tie it at one. Labelle’s fifth of the year was assisted by both McGregor-Bennett and Miller at 9:54.
