Trotter Snags First BCHL Shutout, Spruce Kings Beat Merritt 2-0

CHILLIWACK BC – Andrew Seaman’s 5th of the Pod Season and Nick Rhéaume’s first BCHL goal, backed by a 20 save shutout from Aaron Trotter led to the Spruce Kings third victory in the Pod with a 2-0 victory over the Merritt Centennials.

 

1st Period:

PG: 5:19 into the opening frame, it was Andrew Seaman who picked the pocket of a Centennial forward and was able to slide a backhander on a breakaway underneath the pad of Josh Dias to give Prince George an early lead. Seaman’s team leading fifth of the season was unassisted.

PG: 4:08 into the 3rd period, Nick Rheaume received a Rowan Miller pass off the boards and fired it over the shoulder of Dias to make it 2-0. Rheaumes first BCHL goal was assisted by Miller who had the lone helper.
