Spruce Kings ready to DROP THE MITTS

A Holiday tradition returns to the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena Friday night, as the annual Drop the Mitts, and Sock it to Em! night is held in support of St Vincent de Paul.

When the Spruce Kings score their first goal against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (7 PM Start), fans are asked to throw brand new socks, gloves, mitts, scarves, toques, and other warm clothing onto the ice in a plastic bag.

“This has been happening for almost 20 years, if not longer,” says Spruce Kings Senior Marketing Manager Kyle Anderson, “it is such a need for St. Vincent de Paul to have these items to keep downtown Prince George warm this winter, and I’m excited to see all the support that our Spruce Kings community gives to this event”

The Spruce Kings are expecting their largest crowd of the season, and tickets are available between 9 AM and 4 PM at the office at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena Thursday, and 9 AM to 5 PM Friday before Doors open at 6 PM. Fans can also call 250-564-1747

“The energy in here is going to be electric,” says Anderson, “we are so excited to fill the rink for this event, and help out a great cause in the process.”

Friday’s game is also sponsored by Save on Foods, and is another Friday Family Special. Visit your Save on Foods locations in Prince George and grab a set of 4 tickets, 4 popcorn, and 4 pop for just $19.72. A special visitor from the North Pole may also be in attendance.
