Spruce Kings pick up first win in Wenatchee with strong 4-1 effort

Demons exercised!

It may have taken almost four years and some heartbreak in the BCHL Finals but the Prince George Spruce Kings can finally say they have won in Wenatchee.

The visitors rolled over the Wild by a 4-1 margin on Saturday evening, picking up win number two of a three-game swing.

A fast start by Nick Poisson and Sean Donaldson aided the chances of Prince George as they took a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Wenatchee would cut the lead in half, late in the second period shorthanded when Matt Gosiewski beat goaltender Logan Neaton making it 2-1.

However, the Spruce Kings were undeterred collecting two more goals in the final frame off the sticks of Ben Brar and Dustin Manz.

The goal was Brar’s fourth of the road trip in just two nights.

Prince George outshot Wenatchee 20-17.

The Spruce Kings wrap up the trip tomorrow in Salmon Arm against the Silverbacks.

A pair of home games are slated for Friday and Saturday against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and Penticton Vees.

Puck drop is at 7 PM from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
