Spruce Kings fall short of perfect road weekend after loss to Salmon Arm

The Prince George Spruce Kings are proving to be road warriors but can’t quite run the table.

A late third period goal by Trevor Adams spoiled those plans as the Salmon Arm Silverbacks edged the Spruce Kings on Sunday afternoon by a 2-1 score in front of 706 fans at the Shaw Centre.

Prince George was tied for most of the game with Dylan Anhorn lighting the lamp less than two minutes into the opening period.

Matthew Verboon rippled the mesh late in the frame to even the score on the power-play past netminder Bradley Cooper who ended the road swing for PG.

The Spruce Kings have a pair of home games next weekend when they welcome the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (Friday) and the Penticton Vees (Saturday) at 7 PM from the RMCA.
