Spruce Kings Drop An Entertaining Opening Game Of 2nd Round in Penticton

PENTICTON BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings and Penticton Vees looked like they were destined for overtime in the opening game of the second round of the BCHL Playoffs, but Josh Nadeau had other ideas, scoring the eventual The Vees now lead the best-of-seven series one game to none.

1st PERIOD:

 PG: A Nick Rheaume wrist shot from the left point hit a couple bodies toward the goal, but the puck then found Simon Labelle at the left side of the goal and put it through the legs of Kaeden Lane to give the visitors the lead. Labelle’s fourth of the post-season was assisted by Rheaume at 6:16.

2nd PERIOD:

 PEN: Penticton was able to supply a lot of pressure in the final minute of the second, and they got rewarded. A redirection in front of the goal from Bradley Nadeau beat the glove side of Jordan Fairlie to tie the game. Nadeau’s second of the playoffs was assisted by his brother Josh and Adam Eisele at 19:38.

3rd PERIOD:

 PEN: In the final seconds of the period, Josh Nadeau found himself completely wide open at the right side of the goal and fired the puck passed a sprawling Jordan Fairlie to give the Vees the lead with 4.9 seconds remaining. Josh Nadeau’s third of the playoffs was assisted by Bradley Nadeau and Josh Niedermayer at 19:56 of the third.
