Spruce Kings Comeback Late, But Fall in a Shootout 3-2

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – Corey Cunningham scored his 23nd of the season and his sixth goal in five games, and Carter Woodside made 38 saves, but the Spruce Kings were unable to get the extra point as they fell 3-2 to the Wenatchee Wild in a Shootout.

1st Period:

2nd Period:

 

WEN: At 3:33 of the period, Tyler Young got a rebound in the blue paint and whacked in by goaltender Carter Woodside to give the Wild the lead. Dylan Herzog and Sam Morton had the helpers on Young’s 9th of the season

3rd Period:

 

WEN: At 4:44 of the period, Luke Ormsby got the puck in the left circle, and ripped off the post and in off the glove side of Woodside to give the Wild a 2-0 lead. Drake Usher and Brett Chorske had the helpers on Ornsby’s 10th of the year.

 

PG: On their 5th power-play of the night, Nick Poisson got a feed from Fin Williams and hammered a one timer past goaltender Daniel Chenard to put the Spruce Kings within one. Williams and Nolan Welsh had the helpers on Poisson’s 20th of the season. Poisson’s tally came at 10:28.

 

PG: At 15:59 of the period, Nick Bochen fired a past to Corey Cunningham on the back door that was whacked out of mid-air and top corner over Chenard to tie the game at two. Bochen and Wil Kushniryk had the helpers on Cunningham’s team leading 23rd of the season.
