Spruce Kings blanked in game 4, trail Surrey series 3-1

For the first time in the 2018 BCHL Playoffs, the backs are against the wall for the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Mainland Division Champions fell for the second consecutive night at the South Surrey Arena on Tuesday losing 4-0 to the Surrey Eagles.

The high-flying Eagles have now pushed the Spruce Kings to the brink of elimination taking a commanding 3-1 series lead.

Surrey capitalized on another fast start early in the first thanks to a trio of goals from Jeffrey Stewart, Johnny Wesley and Matthew Campese beating goaltender Evan DeBrouwer.

After a series of penalties between both teams, the Spruce Kings were unable to lit the lamp on their four power-play opportunities in the contest.

Jackson Ross added an insurance marker for Surrey late in the third period to add insult to injury.

Game 5 is set for Thursday at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena at 7 PM with tickets still available at the Spruce Kings office.

Brendan Pawliw will have the play-by-play on 93.1 CFIS FM, Mixlr and Hockey TV.
