CHILLIWACK BC – It was another offensive outburst this evening for the Prince George Spruce Kings as they were able to score seven times and defeated the Chilliwack Chiefs by a 7-3 score. Andrew Seaman and Corey Cunningham both had two goals apiece, while Mason Waite, Carter Cochrane, and Colton Cameron (First BCHL Goal), all found the back of the net for the Prince George Spruce Kings.

1st Period:

CWK: Just under a minute in a half into the game, Jackson Munro got the puck at the left circle after some relentless pressure from the Chiefs, and Munro ripped it top corner on Aaron Trotter to kick start the offence for the Chiefs. Munro’s marker was assisted by Tyler McBay at 1:25 of the first period.

PG: Off an offensive zone faceoff, Rowan Miller made a great diving effort to get the puck to Mason Waite at the right point, and the Spruce King captain roofed it over goaltender Mathieu Caron to tie the game at one. Waite’s third in the pod was assisted by Miller and Nick Rhéaume at 5:41.

PG: At 12:22 of the period, Carter Cochrane just threw the puck towards the goal from the goal line, and it somehow snuck by Caron to give the Spruce Kings the lead. Cochrane’s 4th in the pod was assisted by both Corey Cunningham and Mason Waite.

2nd Period:

CWK: On a Chiefs 5 on 3 power-play, a Tanner Andrew pass from the left side found its way off a Spruce King skate and then underneath Aaron Trotter and in the back of the net to get the game tied at two. Andrew’s power-play tally and 8th of the pod was assisted by Kyle Penney at 12:56.

PG: On the same Chiefs power-play, Andrew Seaman was able to find time and space on a short-handed breakaway and he fired it by Caron to regain the Spruce Kings lead. Seaman’s 9th in the pod was unassisted at 13:56.

PG: The Spruce Kings were snapping the puck around on a power-play late in the period, and a missile of a one timer from Mason Waite was stopped by Caron, but the rebound came right Seaman again at the right circle and fired it in the back of the net to double the Spruce Kings lead. Seaman’s second of the night and 10th in the pod was assisted by Waite and Christian Buono at 19:32.

3rd Period:

PG: 4:14 into the third, the puck came to Colton Cameron at the left circle, and he wired it bar down on Mathieu Caron for his first career BCHL goal to give the Spruce Kings a 5-2 lead. Cameron’s first was assisted by Ben LeFranc and Nick Rheaume.

PG: Just over two minutes later at the right side of the goal, Corey Cunningham was able to slide home his second goal in the pod to put the Spruce Kings up a bunch. The Cunningham tally was assisted by Mason Waite and Amran Bhabra at 6:29. This goal also ended Mathieu Caron’s night a little bit early.

CWK: 10 seconds after the media timeout concluded, the Chiefs were able to cut into the Spruce Kings lead as a shot from Kyle Penney below the left circle found its way past Trotter to make it 6-3. Penney’s sixth in the pod was assisted by 16-year-old Cam Johnson at 10:44.

PG: The Spruce Kings were able to put this one out of reach at 13:35 when it was again Corey Cunningham on a rebound, scoring his second of the night and third in the pod to make it 7-3. The Cunningham marker was assisted by Hunor Torzsok and Ben LeFranc.
