Quesnel’s Carter Hesselgrave commits to Spruce Kings for 2023-24 season

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are happy to announce the commitment of forward Carter Hesslegrave (’05) for the 2023-24 BC Hockey League season.

A product of Quesnel, BC, Hesslegrave has been playing for the Cariboo Cougars program since 2019. This season, he has tallied four goals and 10 assists in 24 games while serving as the team captain for the U18 Cariboo Cougars. As an affiliate player, he has played in six games with the Spruce Kings this season.

“Carter has spent a lot of time with our team this season in both games and practices,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “In these times he’s shown us that he plays the game hard and plays a style of game that we like. Additionally, and more importantly, Carter is a tremendous young man who will fit in well with our organization. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Spruce Kings family.”

Last season, Hesslegrave finished third on the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA team in scoring with seven goals and 21 assists (28 points).

The Spruce Kings would like to welcome Carter to the family and look forward to seeing him complete the 2022-23 season with Cariboo Hockey before joining us across town at Kopar Memorial Arena ahead of the 2023-24 BCHL season.
