Pomeroy and Watson-Brawn Commit for 2016/17

The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to announce the commitment of 1999 born defenseman Liam Watson-Brawn and 1999 born defenseman Jesse Pomeroy for the 2016/2017 season.  Both players have already slotted into some games this season with The Spruce Kings as affiliate players. “We’re excited to be able to welcome Liam and Jesse to the Spruce Kings family. Both of these young players come to us from great programs and have a bright future in the game. They will both be strong contributors to our program for the next several seasons,” said Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes

Liam Watson-Brawn who is from Vancouver, graduated this year from the Burnaby Winter Club Elite U15 to the BWC Prep U18 team where he has 11 points in 32 games played. Watson-Brawn has played five games for The Spruce Kings this season against Powell River, Alberni Valley, Victoria and twice in Langley against the Rivermen. “Liam is a hard working defenseman who can excel at both ends of the ice. He skates well, handles the puck well and likes to get involved physically,” said Mike Hawes.

Jesse Pomeroy is a Prince George native who has played two games for The Spruce Kings this season, taking on the Powell River Kings and Coquitlam Express. Last year with the Cariboo Cougars, Pomeroy had 11 points in 40 games. This season on the Cougars, who are tied for 1st place in the BCMML, Pomeroy has already surpassed that number, with 12 points in 26 games, and leads the team in penalty minutes with 60. “Jesse is a strong defender who also possesses good offensive abilities. He enjoys the physical side of the game and plays a well rounded game. It’s always nice to be able to add a talented local product to our roster,” said Mike Hawes.
