The Prince George Spruce Kings are pleased to announce the acquisition of 19 year old defenseman Mike Winn from Soo Eagles of The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) in exchange for future considerations.
The 6’3” 185 pound Winn is from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Last season with The Soo Eagles Winn scored 2 goals and had 11 assists for 13 points to go along with 42 penalty minutes in 39 games played.
“We are excited to add Mike to our organization. He is a great young man who is a very reliable defenseman with excellent leadership qualities. He will be a very big part of our group next season. It’s good any time you can add a big, physical defenseman that can play in all situations” said Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes.
“I’m honored and excited to be joining such a great organization. I can’t wait to get out to Prince George and get the season going” said new Spruce Kings defenseman Mike Winn.
Mike Winn will join the rest of his Spruce Kings team mates just prior to the start of the team’s main training camp on August 25th.
