PRINCE GEORGE – It was left up to the fans for the BCHL All-Star Fan Vote, and they did enough to vote in Prince George Spruce Kings goalie Jordan Fairlie.

The Fort St. John product was one of four goalies up to be voted into two open spots for the Interior Division.

Fairlie has played in 17 games this season and is currently posting a record of 12-4-1. His 12 wins rank third in the league. He is posting a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.43 and a save percentage (SV%) of .909. His two shutouts are tied for the third most in the league.

Two Spruce Kings will be participating in the Jan, 21 outdoor 3-on-3 All-Star Tournament in Penticton, as part of the league’s 60th Anniversary event.

Spruce Kings’ forward John Herrington was named one of the initial 18 skaters announced and will accompany Fairlie to the event.

In total, 12 skaters and two goalies from each conference will be invited to the event, with each conference split into two teams.

The format for the tournament is:

  • 3-on-3
  • Played on a newly built outdoor rink in Downtown Penticton
  • Four teams of six skaters and one goalie (two teams per conference)
  • Round robin format
  • Top two teams faceoff in the championship game

The All-Stars will also participate in a skills competition earlier in the day with events including hardest shot, accuracy and more.

Fairlie joins Salmon Arm Silverbacks goalie Matthew Tovell as the two goalies that will represent the Interior Division.
