Interior Conference QF Game 5 – (4) Prince George Spruce Kings vs. (5) Cranbrook Bucks

The tension is beginning to build as the Spruce Kings best-of-seven series against the Cranbrook Bucks has now become a best-of-three series. Both teams have held serve on home ice, the Spruce Kings now return to the friendly confines at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena to battle the Cranbrook pucks in a pivotal Game 5. The winner of tonight’s game will move themselves within one victory of advancing to the second round of the playoffs. The Spruce Kings are looking to bounce back after a Game 4 loss, while the bucks are looking to maintain momentum after winning 5-3 in Game 4. Tonight’s game kicks off at 7:00 PM at the RMCA.

 The Bucks power-play and penalty-kill on home for Games 3 and 4 were dynamite and a big reason why they were successful and tied the series. The Bucks didn’t allow a power-play goal and were able to score a combined four times on the power-play in Games 3 and 4.

 Luc Laylin has been no short of dynamite in the playoffs. Laylin leads all Spruce Kings points with 6 which included two goals in Game 4 that came seven seconds apart. The line of Laylin, John Herrington, and Kolton Cousins have been terrific all series, tallying a combined 13 points in 4 playoff games.
