GM confirms the commitments of four players following the Spring Prospects Camp
Upon the completion of another very successful Spring Prospects Camp last weekend, the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) would like to announce the commitment of four players to next season’s roster.
1997 born 6’0” 170 pound local defenseman Bryan Allbee will be joining the Spruce Kings from the Cariboo Cougars Major Midget program. Last season in 39 games, Allbee tallied 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points to go along with 85 penalty minutes.
1996 born 6’4” 215 pound local defenseman Jordan Low will be joining the Spruce Kings from the 100 Mile House Wranglers of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. Last season in 27 games for the Wranglers Low scored 6 goals and added 8 assists for 14 points plus 27 minutes in penalties.
1996 born 5’10” 175 pound defenseman Matt Stief is a native of Weston Florida and will be joining the Spruce Kings after spending last season playing for the Belle Tire Major Midget team in Detroit Michigan. Stief tallied 3 goals and 12 assists in 37 games last season for Belle Tire.
1996 born 5’9” 170 pound forward Rider Stoglin hails from Littleton Colorado and played last season for the Colorado Thunderbirds Major Midget team where he scored 7 goals and 14 assists in 35 games.
“All four of these players are great additions to our team,” said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. “Bryan is a very skilled and smooth skating defenseman who sees the ice very well. He will be a dynamic player on the back end for us for the next few seasons. Jordan is a big, strong defenseman who skates well and is quite agile for a big player. He doesn’t mind the physical side of the game while still possessing the ability to contribute in both ends of the rink.”
“Matt is an incredibly smart puck moving defenseman who is always in the right position and always seems to make the smart play,” continued Hawes. “He has tremendous vision and our fans will enjoy watching this young man play for the next couple of seasons. Rider is an explosive player who possesses a ton of offensive ability. He’s a great skater, is very shifty and can bury the puck when given the chance. He works very hard and will be an effective player at both ends of the rink for us.”
