Five Different Goal Scorers and 61 Shots Give Spruce Kings 3rd Win In A Row

PRINCE GEORGE BC – Five different goal scorers, and 61 shots gave the Prince George Spruce Kings their third victory in a row, defeating the Merritt Centennials by a 5-1 score. Tonight’s victory improves the Spruce Kings record to 17-9-2-1 on the season.

1st PERIOD:

 PG: 1:36 into the hockey game on a Centennial power-play, a short-handed 2 on 1 developed led by Kolton Cousins who shovelled a backhander, which was stopped, and the rebound came to Colton Cameron and deposited the rebound top shelf to make it 1-0. The newly Bentley commit scored his second of the season short-handed from Cousins.

MER: On the same power-play, a one-time blast from Ryan Mulrenin at the left point by Aaron Trotter to tie the game at one. Mulrenin’s sixth of the year was assisted by Tristan Allen at 2:21.

PG: 14 seconds later, Luc Laylin got a feed from Simon Labelle and Laylin showed great patience and fired it by Jackson Baker to make it 2-1. Laylin’s fourth of the season was assisted by Labelle and Colton Cameron at 2:35.

PG: Austin Fraser got the puck at the left circle and wired a wrister to make it 3-1 with a ton of traffic in front of the goal. Fraser’s ninth of the season was assisted by both Ty Gagno and Dylan Schives at 12:59.

 PG: 18 seconds into the period, John Herrington carried the puck down the left wing fired it low glove on Peyton Trzsaka to make it 4-1. Herrington’s team leading 17th of the year was assisted by Colton Cameron.

PG: In the final two minutes of the game on a PG power-play, Ty Gagno got the puck and fired a shot bar down on Trzsaka to make it 5-1. Gagno’s sixth of the year was assisted by both Nick Marciano and Kilian McGregor-Bennett at 18:02.
