The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce that defenceman Connor Russell has committed to play next season at the University of Ottawa.

In his first season with the Spruce Kings, the Guelph native put up personal bests in goals (8), assists (24), and points (32) while being named an alternate captain to start the year. Russell was acquired as the future considerations that saw Corey Hoffman go to the Cowichan Valley Capitals at the trade deadline in the 2015/16 season. The defenceman also played for the Penticton Vees in his first season of the BCHL. In 157 BCHL games, Russell had a total of 13 goals, 48 assists, and 61 points.

The team would like to congratulate Russell, and wish him the best of luck with his new team.
