PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce the addition of defenceman Brody Martin (’07) for the 2024/25 season.
Martin, who is from Prince George, plays for the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) U18 Prep team in Penticton.
“It is really exciting,” said Martin. “As a child, I remember going to Spruce Kings games, so it is really cool.”
In ten games this season at OHA, Martin has recorded two assists. Last season with the U17 Prep team, the Prince George product recorded two goals and nine points in 32 games.
Martin Stands at 5’10” and weighs 170 lbs. The 16-year-old defenceman shoots left and has been an anchor defensively for OHA in his time with the academy.
“Brody is a tremendous young puck moving Dman who defends very well,” says General Manager, Mike Hawes. “He’s a hard-working player who will be a big part of our program for the next few seasons.”
Being from Prince George is not Martin’s only tie to the Spruce Kings. Between 1994 and 1998, Brody’s dad, Chris Martin, played 144 games with the Prince George Spruce Kings, scoring 138 points in a Kings Jersey.
