Brett Mennear

Brett Mennear

Position: Forward

DOB: February 2nd, 1996

Hometown: West Kelowna, BC

Shoots: Right

This past year was one to remember for Brett Mennear. In his third full season with his hometown West Kelowna Warriors, the 5’9 forward was an integral part of the Warriors run to Junior A supremacy. First in the BCHL playoffs he recorded 11 points in 24 games, including three in the six game final against the Chilliwack Chiefs. Later at the Western Canada Cup, Mennear was tied for second in tournament with six points in five games and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Finally for the RBC Cup, Mennear put up four points in six games including assisting on the eventual game winning goal against the host Llyodminster Bobcats in the final.

Mennear joins the Spruce Kings after being acquired at the end of the season as a part of the trade that saw Jake LeBrun and Bryan Basilico head to West Kelowna. Tanner Campbell came to the team immediately in January, while Mennear was the future considerations of the deal. Penalty killing is a speciality for the forward who scored five goals last season while down a man. Only Kyle Betts of the Powell River Kings had more with six.

Mennear will join his teammates this coming August when training camp starts up on August 25th.
