The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) has announced a new partnership with Pacific Coastal Airlines for the 2017-18 season.
The 2017-18 agreement makes Pacific Coastal Airlines the preferred airline of the BCHL for a second consecutive year.
Included is the creation of joint marketing efforts as well as special discounts for players, their families and fans who wish to travel to away games.
The partnership also offers convenient service to hockey scouts who travel to BCHL games to assess players during the hockey season which runs from September to March.
Many of these scouts represent Canadian and American universities offering scholarships to promising players.
BCHL Commissioner John Grisdale says officials will also be using flights to get to and from games throughout the year.
“We are happy to have Pacific Coastal Airlines back on board for the upcoming season. This is an important strategic partnership between two well-established British Columbia-based brands and Pacific Coastal’s involvement is important to our league, to our players, and to our fans.”
“There is a natural fit between the two organizations – 16 of the 17 teams in the BCHL are located at or near 14 communities served by Pacific Coastal,” says Pacific Coastal’s Director of Business Development Kevin Boothroyd.
“Both organizations share a rich history of community involvement and we are committed to growing this partnership now and into the future.”
