3 Spruce Kings Have Multi Point Nights, And Sweep 3 Game Home-Stand

PRINCE GEORGE BC – Multi point nights from the line of Nick Rheaume, Simon Labelle, and Rowan Miller, backed by 23 saves from Aaron Trotter, triumphed the Spruce Kings to their fourth win in a row, with a 6-2 victory over the Penticton Vees.

1st PERIOD:

 NO SCORING

2nd PERIOD:

 PG: 6:28 into the period, Simon Labelle was able to retrieve the puck at the right circle, used great patience, and fired it short side on Colin Purcell to make it 1-0. Labelle’s ninth of the season was assisted by both Colton Cameron and Rowan Miller.

PG: Simon Labelle was able to pick the pocket of Grayson Arnott along the Penticton line at the left wing and was able to spot Nick Rhéaume in tight and he put it by Purcell to make it 2-0. Rhéaume’s 15th of the season was assisted by Labelle at 10:24.

PG: 18 seconds later, Nathan Fox was able to steal the puck off a Penticton stick and threw it towards the goal it snuck by Purcell to make it 3-0. Fox’s second of the season was unassisted at 10:36.

PEN: In the final minute of the second frame, after a plethora of blocked shots and mayhem in front of the Spruce Kings goal, the puck found its way into the slot for Josh Niedermayer, and he wired a wrist shot by Aaron Trotter to get Penticton on the board. Niedermayer’s third of the year was assisted by both Josh Nadeau and Grayson Arnott at 19:01.

3rd PERIOD:

PEN: Early in the third stanza, the Vees supplied a ton of pressure, and they were able to convert. Josh Nadeau got a feed in tight from Adam Eisele and put it by Trotter to make it a one goal game. Nadeau’s team leading 22nd of the year was assisted by both Eisele and Beanie Richter at 3:27.

PG: Josh Wright got a feed at the right point from Rowan Miller, the Wright point shot was initially stopped by Carter Serhyenko and the rebound found Nick Rhéaume who shovelled home his second of the night to make it 4-2. Rhéaume’s 16th of the season was assisted by both Wright and Miller at 9:58.

PG: After a John Herrington shot that was rifled off the crossbar, Kolton Cousins was able to corral the puck and wrap it around and tuck it in on the glove side of Serhyenko to make it 5-2. Cousins’ 12th of the season was assisted by Herrington and Laylin at 13:58.

PG: Late in the frame on a Penticton power-play, Nick Rhéaume took the puck off the stick of Braden Doyle at the blue line, took the puck into the attacking zone, and toe dragged around Doyle and the puck came to Rowan Miller with a yawning cage, and fired it home to make it 6-2 Spruce Kings. Miller’s 13th of the season was assisted by Rhéaume, shorthanded, at 16:25.
