Ben Poisson Commits to Black Bears

The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to congratulate forward and 2017/2018 BCHL Most Sportsmanlike Player Ben Poisson on his commitment to the University of Maine.

Poisson, who just completed his second year with the Spruce Kings, finished the year with 22 goals and 29 assists in just 52 games, as his regular season was cut short due to injury. He would return for the final two games of the BCHL Fred Page Cup Final.

“We are very excited for Ben Poisson’s commitment to The University of Maine to play NCAA Div. 1 hockey for the 2019/2020 season. Ben possesses exceptional work ethic, leadership, and skill in which he makes players around him better. He has earned everything he has got in hockey and he strives to be better daily by being a student of the game.” said Spruce Kings Head Coach Adam Maglio.

With Ben Poisson returning in 2018/2019, he will play alongside his brother Nick, who the Spruce Kings committed to last week.

With this signing, the Spruce Kings have 12 players from the 2017/2018 team with post-secondary commitments, including 11 to the NCAA, and 1 to USPORTS.
